Home Building Finance Ireland Bill 2018

Sets up Home Building Finance Ireland, a State-backed company that would lend money on commercial terms to viable housing developments in Ireland. It also gives the company access to funding from the Irish Strategic Investment Fund, lets the Minister appoint its board and keep oversight, and requires audited accounts and reporting to the Oireachtas. The aim is to make more finance available for home building and help increase housing supply.

Bill entitled an Act to provide for the formation of a company to be known as Home Building Finance Ireland; to provide for the making available of financing by the company for residential development in the State; and to provide for related matters.
