Health (General Practitioner Service) Bill 2018
Public bill · Government · Presented
Makes free GP medical and surgical services available to people getting Carer’s Allowance or Carer’s Benefit. It also sets out how the Health Service Executive would check eligibility, lets people appeal decisions, and allows a GP choice where practical. The change matters because it would remove GP fees for carers on these supports, at an estimated annual cost of €2.8 million.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Health Act 1970 to provide for the making available of a general practitioner medical and surgical service to persons in receipt of certain allowances under the Social Welfare Acts; and to provide for related matters.
