Road Traffic (Regulation of Rickshaws) (Amendment) Bill 2018
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Gives the National Transport Authority power to set rules for rickshaws in cities, counties and municipal districts. It would let the Authority require insurance, competency checks or driving tests, licences, and terms for getting or renewing those licences, and make it an offence to break the rules. It also updates the law’s definitions so rickshaws are clearly covered, including battery-assisted and other powered or non-powered versions.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Taxi Regulation Act 2013 and the Road Traffic Act 1961 to make provision for the regulation, by the National Transport Authority, of rickshaws in cities, counties and municipal districts and to provide for related matters.
