Pensionable Age Task Force Bill 2019
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Creates a Pensionable Age Task Force to examine the right age for starting the State pension, carry out research and public consultation, and make recommendations in a report to the Minister. It also requires the Minister to consider those recommendations and report back, while setting deadlines for the task force to be established, complete its work, and then be wound up. The practical effect is to reopen debate on the planned rises in pension age and to base any decision on evidence and public input.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for the establishment of the Pensionable Age Task Force which shall consider and make recommendations on the appropriate level of pensionable age; to provide for the production of a report on the recommendations of the Pensionable Age Task Force; to provide for the dissolution of that Pensionable Age Task Force and to provide for related matters.
