Investment Limited Partnerships (Amendment) Bill 2019
Public bill · Government · Presented
Updates Ireland’s rules for investment limited partnerships so they better suit modern private equity and fund structures. It makes it easier to set up and manage these funds, including allowing umbrella funds with separate sub-funds, foreign-language names, clearer rules for changes to partnership agreements, and stronger protections for limited partners, general partners and depositaries. It also tidies up related rules for Irish collective asset-management vehicles, including written member resolutions, name changes, contract validity, and insolvency-related procedures. The overall aim is to modernise fund law and make Ireland more attractive as a location for investment funds.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Investment Limited Partnerships Act 1994 and the Irish Collective Asset-management Vehicles Act 2015 and to provide for related matters.
