Noise Pollution (Management and Abatement) Bill 2019
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The bill would give the Environmental Protection Agency a bigger role in managing noise, especially around Dublin Airport, and would require more public reporting on how noise rules are being used. It would shift responsibility for setting the airport’s noise-reduction target from Fingal County Council to the EPA, so the body setting the target is separate from the body working to meet it. It would also require regular reports from the EPA, Fingal County Council, and the relevant Minister on noise management more generally, to make the process clearer and more transparent.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for certain matters relating to the management and abatement of noise pollution and for that purpose to amend the Aircraft Noise (Dublin Airport) Regulation Act 2019 and the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 and to provide for related matters.
