Regulation of Private Security Firms Bill 2019

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The measure would bring private companies and staff who carry out court-ordered enforcement work, including repossessions, under the same regulatory system as other private security providers. That means they would need to meet the same standards, licensing, training, oversight, and complaint procedures run by the Private Security Services Authority. It matters because it would give closer control over a sensitive area where people’s homes, property, and rights can be directly affected.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Private Security Services Act 2004 to regulate private security companies engaged in the enforcement of court orders including the repossession of properties and to provide for related matters.
