Credit Guarantee (Amendment) Bill 2020
Public bill · Government · Presented
Supports businesses hit by Covid-19 by creating a special credit guarantee scheme so they can borrow more easily. It lets the Minister back loans for a wider range of firms, including small mid-caps and, through the scheme rules, primary producers, while setting a total guarantee limit of €2 billion and capping the State’s liability at €1.6 billion. The guarantees can run for up to six years and the scheme is meant to be available during 2020, with a possible extension into 2021.
