A person with a terminal illness could get legal help to end their life, if two doctors confirm the illness is incurable, progressive, and likely to cause death, and if the person is judged able to make the decision for themselves. The proposal also protects doctors and nurses who help under the rules from criminal liability, allows healthcare workers to refuse on conscience grounds, and sets up a review committee to oversee assisted dying.

Formal long title
