Updates the rules for investment limited partnerships so they better fit modern private equity and investment fund practice. It lets these partnerships use umbrella structures with separate sub-funds, makes partnership changes and partner transfers clearer, tightens naming and record-keeping rules, and adds full beneficial ownership reporting so the true owners can be identified and checked. It also aligns the same transparency rules with Irish collective asset-management vehicles and common contractual funds, with no major extra cost expected for the State.

Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Investment Limited Partnerships Act 1994, the Irish Collective Asset-management Vehicles Act 2015 and the Investment Funds, Companies and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2005; to amend Schedule 5 to the Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005; and to provide for related matters.
