Children (Amendment) Bill 2020

It would tighten the rules on reporting court proceedings involving certain children, limiting when newspapers, broadcasts, or other publications can name or identify them through reports or pictures. Its aim is to give children stronger privacy protection in sensitive legal cases.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Children Act 2001 to make further provision, in relation to proceedings to which section 252 of that Act applies, in respect of the publication and inclusion in a broadcast of reports or pictures identifying or likely to identify certain children; and to provide for related matters.
