Organisation of Working Time (Amendment) (Carryover of Annual Leave) (Covid-19) Bill 2020

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

Lets workers keep annual leave they could not reasonably take because of Covid-19, and use it in the next two leave years instead. It would cover situations where the pandemic made taking leave impractical for the employee, the employer, or wider society and the economy. If someone leaves a job before using that carried-over leave, they would be paid for it instead.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 to allow for employees to carry over untaken leave in a year where it was not reasonably practicable for an employee to take some or all of the leave to which the employee was entitled as a result of the effects of Covid-19.
