Public Service Pay Bill 2020
Public bill · Government · Presented
Eases the limits on pay rises for public servants that were put in place during the financial emergency, so pay and allowances can be increased in more cases, including where the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform approves it. It also tidies up related employment and ministerial approval rules so that pay changes made under the updated system do not need extra sign-off, and it aligns the timing of other public service pay restrictions being lifted.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for the adjustment of the restrictions, contained in the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (No. 2) Act 2009, on increasing the remuneration payable to public servants and for that purpose to amend that Act and the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act 2011; and to provide for related matters.
