Health (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2021

Public bill · Government · Presented

Sets up a temporary system for some indoor venues, such as restaurants, bars and similar premises, to admit only people who can show they are vaccinated, have recovered from Covid-19, or qualify for a limited exemption such as certain children and workers. It gives inspectors powers to check compliance, allows closures or court orders against businesses that do not follow the rules, and makes using forged or false documents an offence. It also changes the rules for travellers in quarantine facilities by allowing more flexible testing and shorter quarantine in some cases, and by letting people avoid facility quarantine in certain circumstances if they meet prescribed testing conditions.
