Moves responsibility for the Child and Family Agency’s education welfare work from the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to the Minister for Education, and updates the agency’s oversight, reporting, information-sharing and planning rules to match that change. It also shifts funding for those education welfare functions to the Minister for Education, while the other parts of the agency remain funded by the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth. In practice, it gives education policy and supervision over school-attendance and related welfare matters a clearer home within the education system.

Bill entitled an Act to provide for the transfer of certain functions of the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth under the Child and Family Agency Act 2013 to the Minister for Education and for that purpose to amend the Child and Family Agency Act 2013; and to provide for related matters.
