Housing (Housing Assistance Payment Waiting Times) (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) Bill 2021

Reduces the time councils should take to assess applications for social housing and for the Housing Assistance Payment scheme. It would cut the current social housing assessment period from 12 weeks to 3 weeks and introduce a new 3-week deadline for processing Housing Assistance Payment applications, so people in housing need get decisions faster.

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009, Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2014 and subsequent regulations to reduce social housing and housing assistance payment scheme assessment times.
