Housing (Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability) Bill 2021

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would make it easier for people with disabilities to get a housing adaptation grant by requiring local authorities to decide applications within four weeks where possible. It also lets the Minister make regulations to support how the grant works. In plain terms, it aims to speed up access to home changes like ramps, accessible bathrooms, or other adaptations that help people live safely and independently.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to make provision for ease of access to a housing adaptation grant for people with a disability for those applicants qualifying for same and to provide for related matters.
