Requiring Covid-19 health regulations and affected-areas orders made by the Minister for Health to be approved by both Houses of the Oireachtas within tight time limits, or they would lapse automatically. Either House could also vote to отмен? annul such measures sooner, and any earlier actions taken under them would remain valid. It matters because it would give Parliament a stronger check on emergency restrictions that can affect everyday freedoms.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Health Act 1947, and for that purpose to provide for parliamentary oversight of regulations made by the Minister for Health under section 31A of that Act and of orders made by that Minister under section 31B of that Act and to provide for related matters.
