Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Bill 2021

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The changes would make whistleblower protections stronger and easier to use. They would widen who is covered, allow anonymous reports, treat attempts to block or punish reporting as wrongdoing, shift the proof burden to employers in retaliation cases, and let people seek fairer compensation, free legal and psychological support, and faster court protection if they are dismissed for speaking up. It would also require annual reporting to the Oireachtas.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 and to provide for related matters.
