Student Nurses (Pay) Bill 2021

The proposal would require student nurses to be paid when they are working as part of their education and training. It says that time spent doing work for a training provider would count as working time, and that student nurses should be paid at least the same hourly rate the Health Service Executive pays health care assistants, unless a better arrangement already exists. It matters because it would give student nurses clearer pay rights and recognise the work they do while training.
