Ceathrú Chultúir 1916 Bill 2021
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
A new body, Ceathrú Chultúir 1916 Teoranta, would be set up to preserve, restore and manage the Moore Street Battlefield Area in central Dublin as a cultural and historical quarter. It would protect key 1916 sites, support a permanent outdoor market, and help turn the area into a “living museum” that promotes Irish history, culture, language, tourism and local trade. The plan matters because it tries to safeguard an iconic part of Dublin from unsuitable redevelopment while also boosting the area’s visitor appeal and economic revival.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for the establishment of a body to be known as Ceathrú Chultúir 1916 Teoranta, to define its functions in relation to the preservation, restoration and management of the cultural historical quarter within the Moore Street Battlefield Area in line with the functions, aims and objectives set for it in this Act and to provide for connected matters.
