Planning and Development, Heritage and Broadcasting (Amendment) Bill 2021
Public bill · Government · Presented
The measure tidies up the law so heritage responsibilities can move fully to the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and so that Minister can handle planning-related heritage work without legal obstacles. It updates planning, wildlife and conservation rules so decisions on protected buildings, habitats and natural heritage can be made and coordinated more smoothly, and it also fixes older broadcasting rules that still refer to former ministerial arrangements. Overall, it matters because it removes legal technicalities that could delay heritage protection and public administration.
