Gambling (Prohibition of Advertising) Bill 2021
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Seeks to ban most gambling advertising in the public interest, with a few narrow exceptions. It would also restrict gambling sponsorship in broadcast programmes, while allowing some limited charitable or one-off local racing-related promotions. Breaking the rules could lead to fines or prison terms, with tougher penalties for repeated offences, so the main aim is to reduce the public exposure and promotion of gambling.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to regulate in the public interest advertising and sponsorship of gambling; and to provide for related matters.
