Private Security Services (Amendment) Bill 2021
Public bill · Government · Presented
It would add a new category of licensed private security work for “enforcement guards,” covering people involved in taking possession of premises or seizing property to collect debts. It would also give the Private Security Authority stronger powers over licences, create an offence of pretending to be an Authority inspector, and let the public check the licence register online for free. The changes matter because they tighten oversight of the private security sector while making enforcement work clearer and more regulated.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Private Security Services Act 2004 and the Enforcement of Court Orders Act 1926; and to provide for related matters.
