Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill 2021

The proposal would require road traffic signs in Ireland to show Irish and English equally, with the Irish text placed above the English, in the same size and written in standard Roman letters with initial capitals. Irish text could also be distinguished by colour. Its main aim is to give Irish and English equal prominence on public road signs.

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Road Traffic Act 1961 to provide for dual language road signs and related matters.
