Proceeds of Crime (Investment in Disadvantaged Communities) (Amendment) Bill 2021
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Requires the Finance Minister to review, every two years, what extra supports disadvantaged communities need when they are hit by crime, and to take that review into account when deciding how money recovered from criminal assets is spent. It also aims to channel those funds back into the affected communities to reduce the harm caused by crime and support measures that help prevent it happening again.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Proceeds of Crime Act 1996 and provide that the proceeds of crime be invested in disadvantaged communities in order to help alleviate the impact of crime and help prevent the reoccurrence of criminal behaviour.
