Planning and Development (Amendment) (Repeal of Part V Leasing) Bill 2021

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposed law would remove the option for developers to meet their social housing obligations by leasing homes under Part V. Its aim is to make sure affordable and social homes are secured for long-term use by the State, rather than through shorter-term leasing arrangements. The memorandum says it would have no direct financial effect.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to repeal the parts of the Planning and Development Act 2000 that provide for the provision of social housing via Part V leasing.
