No. 67 of 2021Thirty-ninth Amendment of the Constitution (Right to Vote at 16) Bill 2021
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
A referendum would be held to let people decide whether to lower the voting age in Ireland from 18 to 16. If approved, 16- and 17-year-olds would be able to register and vote in Dáil, presidential, European, local, and referendum elections. It matters because supporters say younger people should have a voice sooner and may be easier to register through schools.
Formal long title
