The proposal would cut the pay of TDs and Senators by 25% while certain Covid-19 restrictions are in force, either across the State or in a large part of it. It is framed as a gesture of public solidarity during the pandemic. The measure would affect salaries only, not allowances, and would stay in place only for the period covered by those restrictions.
