Finance Bill 2022 mainly updates taxes and reliefs for workers, families, renters, homebuyers and businesses. It raises some income tax and USC thresholds and credits, extends the Help to Buy scheme, adds a new tax credit for rent, keeps certain fuel, tobacco and alcohol tax changes from the Budget, and creates new rules for areas like digital platform reporting, vacant homes tax, a defective concrete levy and temporary energy support for businesses. It also extends or adjusts a range of business tax reliefs and pension rules, while tightening some reporting and penalty systems.

Bill entitled an Act to provide for the imposition, repeal, remission, alteration and regulation of taxation, of stamp duties and of duties relating to excise and otherwise to make further provision in connection with finance including the regulation of customs; to make provision for supports to certain sectors of the economy; and to provide for related matters.
