Ban on Sex for Rent Bill 2022

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The measure would make it a crime to demand or accept sex as the price of a place to live, and also to arrange or help make such an arrangement happen. It matters because it would target “sex for rent” exploitation, where someone uses housing need to pressure a person into sexual activity.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to create an offence of requiring or accepting sex as a condition of accommodation and an offence of arranging or facilitating the requirement or acceptance of sex as a condition of accommodation.
