Commission of Investigation (Nursing Homes) Bill 2022

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

A public inquiry would be set up to examine how nursing homes were managed during Covid-19, especially how the risks to residents’ lives and health were handled. It would also look at specific issues named in the bill and any other relevant factors, and it would have to be established within two months of the law passing. The aim is to get a clear account of what happened and why, so lessons can be learned for future care and emergency planning.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to provide for a public inquiry into the management, in connection with nursing homes, of the risks to human life and health posed by Covid-19; and to provide for related matters.
