Personal Injuries Resolution Board Bill 2022
Public bill · Government · Presented
The bill gives the Personal Injuries Assessment Board a bigger role in settling claims without going to court. It renames the body the Personal Injuries Resolution Board and lets it offer mediation as well as assessment, while also changing how some claims are handled, including cases where more medical time is needed, fees are charged, and costs are awarded if a court case follows an assessment that was not accepted. It also strengthens the board’s powers to publish information, do research, report suspected fraud, and require honest information from applicants and others. That matters because it is meant to speed up claims, cut legal costs, help reduce insurance costs, and make the system more transparent.
