Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Bill 2022
Public bill · Government · Presented
Changes how some doctors and social care workers can register and be regulated in Ireland. It would let graduates with UK medical degrees access intern training posts here, keep routes open for some internationally trained doctors to join the Medical Council register, and tighten rules so social care workers meet the same safety standards as other CORU-regulated professions. It also makes small fixes to the Medical Council’s complaints process and updates outdated legal wording and qualification lists.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to make miscellaneous amendments to the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, the Medical Practitioners Act 2007 and the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020; and to provide for related matters.
