Communications Regulation and Digital Hub Development Agency (Amendment) Bill 2022
Public bill · Government · Presented
Strengthens the rules for Ireland’s communications sector by updating EU-wide telecoms law, giving ComReg stronger powers to enforce standards, and setting clearer duties on network and service providers to protect security and deal with incidents. It also gives consumers more protection through better complaint handling, service-quality standards, a customer charter and compensation where providers fall short, while allowing urgent action and tougher penalties for serious breaches. The title also mentions changes to the Digital Hub Development Agency and postal funding, but those parts are not covered in the explanatory text provided here.
Formal long title
