Derelict Sites (Amendment) Bill 2022
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
A local authority would have to explain itself if it collected less than 75% of the derelict sites levy due in a year. It would need to send a report to the Minister saying why the money was not collected and what it plans to do about it, and the Minister would then publish a combined report for the Oireachtas. The aim is to make levy collection more transparent and to push councils to act more consistently against derelict sites.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Derelict Sites Act 1990 and to provide for related matters.
