Finance (No. 2) Bill 2023
Public bill · Government · Presented
Changes tax, welfare-linked payments and several business reliefs while also setting new rules for a wider tax overhaul on large multinational groups. It lowers some USC and income tax burdens, raises the rent tax credit and mortgage interest relief, keeps support going for electric cars, solar panels, books and certain energy measures, and adjusts taxes for farms, landlords, charities and retirement savings. It also tightens rules on vacant homes, deposit returns, excise duties and anti-avoidance measures, so it matters both for household costs and for how companies and investors are taxed.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for the imposition, repeal, remission, alteration and regulation of taxation, of stamp duties and of duties relating to excise and otherwise to make further provision in connection with finance; and to provide for related matters.
