No. 92 of 2023Fortieth Amendment of the Constitution (Care) Bill 2023
Public bill · Government · Presented
The proposed change would remove the Constitution’s current wording on care and replace it with a new clause recognising family care. It says the State should acknowledge that care given by family members to one another is vital to society and should try to support it. That matters because it would give constitutional recognition to care work, especially the unpaid care many families provide at home.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Constitution.
