Education (Smartphones in Primary Schools) Bill 2024

The proposed law would stop primary school pupils from using smartphones during the school day, with school principals and teachers responsible for enforcing the rule. Its aim is to protect children’s welfare and support learning by reducing distraction in class. It also sets out basic definitions and when the law would start to apply.
