Forty-first Amendment of the Constitution (Agreement on a Unified Patent Court) Bill 2024

Public bill · Government · Presented

Amends the Constitution so Ireland can join the Unified Patent Court agreement, a system for handling certain patent disputes more consistently across participating countries. It would let the State ratify the agreement and give legal effect in Ireland to laws and decisions needed under it. This matters because it would tie Ireland into a shared European patent system, which could make patent enforcement more straightforward for businesses and inventors.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Constitution.
