Electricity Costs (Emergency Measures) Domestic Accounts Bill 2024

Public bill · Government · Presented

Keeps emergency help with electricity bills going by setting up two new support schemes: one for ordinary domestic electricity accounts and one for homes with a submeter setup. Most eligible households would get two €125 credits, and the payments would run through to 31 August 2025. It also makes sure the payments are not taxed, gives the energy regulator and suppliers the legal powers they need to run the schemes, and allows the Minister to make the practical rules needed to deliver them.

Formal long title
