Broadcasting (Oversight of RTÉ Accounts) (Amendment) Bill 2024

The proposal would put RTÉ under the same independent audit and oversight arrangements as TG4, instead of leaving RTÉ’s accounts to be overseen through its own board. It changes the rules so the Comptroller and Auditor General would directly audit RTÉ’s accounts, which is meant to restore confidence in how public money is being handled after recent controversies.
