Information on Repairability of Certain Products Bill 2024

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

Sets up a repairability label and product information sheet for certain consumer goods, such as laptops, washing machines, lawnmowers and televisions, so buyers can see how easy a product is to fix and whether spare parts and repair guidance are available. Shops and suppliers would have to display or provide this information, and the Minister could add more products later. The Environmental Protection Agency would help oversee compliance, with penalties and court action possible for companies that ignore the rules.
