Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (Amendment) Bill 2024
Public bill · Government · Presented
Extends State funding for the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission for 2025 to 2027, with a maximum allocation of €565 million. That funding pays for TDs’ and Senators’ salaries and pensions, staff in the Oireachtas Service, the Parliamentary Budget Office and Parliamentary Legal Advisor, as well as travel, IT, broadcasting, and library and research services. It matters because the current funding arrangement ends in December 2024, and the change keeps Parliament’s day-to-day running and support services financed without interruption.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Act 2003; and to provide for related matters.
