Children’s Health (Ospidéal Náisiúnta Kathleen Lynn do Leanaí) (Amendment) Bill 2025

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would require the new National Children’s Hospital to be named in Irish after Dr Kathleen Lynn: **Ospidéal Náisiúnta Kathleen Lynn do Leanaí**. It matters because it would end the current open-ended naming process and formally honour a pioneering doctor, women’s rights activist and 1916 leader who also helped found Ireland’s first infant hospital.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Children’s Health Act 2018 and therefore to amend the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (Establishment) Order 2007 (S.I. No. 246 of 2007) so as to direct that the National Children’s Hospital be named Ospidéal Náisiúnta Kathleen Lynn do Leanaí.
