Regulation of Drones Bill 2025

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would tighten rules for private and commercial drone use in the public interest. It would make drone operations a formal factor in national planning, require local councils to set local rules for managing drones, and let councils keep drone use aligned with national policy. It would also allow complaints to the District Court about noise from certain private or commercial drones, giving residents, councils and the Environmental Protection Agency a way to deal with nuisance.
