Social Welfare and Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings System (Amendment) Bill 2025

Public bill · Government · Presented

Raises a range of social welfare payments from January 2026, including pensions, maternity, paternity, adoptive and parent’s benefit, jobseeker’s payments, working family payment, domiciliary care allowance and the newborn baby grant, with most weekly rates going up by €10 and some qualified-adult and child rates rising too. It also lifts the employer PRSI earnings threshold so employers of full-time minimum-wage workers keep paying the higher rate when the minimum wage rises. Alongside those changes, it makes technical updates to the automatic enrolment retirement savings system and expands access to the back to work family dividend for people on blind pension and disability allowance.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Social Welfare Acts; to amend the Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings System Act 2024; and to provide for related matters.
