National Minimum Wage (Inclusion of Young Persons, Apprentices and Interns) Bill 2025
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The proposed law would give employed young workers the full national minimum hourly wage, instead of a lower youth rate. It would also bring apprentices fully within the minimum wage rules and make sure some interns and people on work experience are paid the national minimum wage if they are really working regular hours. The aim is to close gaps that can leave younger workers or trainees underpaid for the same kind of work.
Formal long title
