Agri-Food Regulator (Amendment) Bill 2026
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Gives the Agri-Food Regulator stronger powers to require businesses in the farming and food supply chain to hand over data, instead of only asking for it. That includes information on prices, margins, financial records, output, policies, staffing and pay, so the regulator can spot unfair trading, check claims about excessive profits, and improve transparency for consumers.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for enhanced powers for the Agri-food Regulator to access data from businesses within the agricultural and food supply chain, including prices, margins, and related financial information, in order to promote transparency and protect consumer interests; and to provide for related matters.
