asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he continued the Conference between the Executive of the Irish Farmers' Union, and the Irish Transport General Workers' Union initiated by his predecessor in office to find a way to maintain the area under tillage, thereby relieving unemployment and tending to keep the country self-supporting.

I am endeavouring to continue that conference and I have correspondence in connection with it, but some of the parties are making certain objections to continuing it and I do not think it would help towards a continuance of the conference if we discussed the reasons just now.
